A transplant from the Washington, DC area, I moved to the Winchester, Virginia area 23 years ago and have never thought about moving back to DC. The natural beauty of the countryside and the local people have won my heart forever. A lot has change over the years, we got a shopping mall in 1985, were voted one of only a few national communities to win the 1991 award "An All American Community" and opened a "Technology Zone" for Internet companies only, on the "Old Towne Mall" in 1996. This is a wonderful place to raise children or retire to. Our hospital system is one of the top in the state.
